After a forced Covid break, popular teacher and tour guide Elana Kuchik is back facilitating her exciting classes.

On Sunday, May 2 at 7 PM at Ascent, Elena welcomes Baruch Gordon to Ascent for a spirited discussion on the mystical connection between Kabbalah and Yom HaAtzmaut.

Born and raised in Memphis, he was elected International President of United Synagogue Youth in high school and soon after became religious while studying at Tufts University.

Baruch Gordon founded the Arutz Sheva - Israel website in 1995 and served as manager and News Director for its English Media Department for 14 years. Today, he serves as Director of Development for the Israel Defense Forces Preparatory Academy in Bet El and Bet El Institutions. During the 2009 Knesset term of Knesset Member Yaakov “Ketzaleh” Katz, Baruch served as an assistant. He began Torah study at Jerusalem's Machon Meir and continued at the Bet El Yeshiva Center where for ten years, he learned and later taught as Dean of the Program for Overseas Students and Dean of the Program for IDF Veterans. In Bet El, Baruch founded a Smicha Program for Working Baalei Batim and obtained smicha from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, OBM, in Shabbat, Niddah and Isur V’heter in 2017. Baruch also directs the West Bank Jewish Population Stats research group and produces a yearly report detailing the precise number of Jews living in Judea and Samaria. The event is free.
